June 2008 - Ron Weaver lost his bid to be on the ballot for Sheriff in the 2008 election cycle. The current Sheriff of Mohave County, Tom Sheahan, filed a civil complaint alleging that a number of signatures were invalid and as a result Ron Weaver did not have enough signatures to be placed on the ballot. After a brief investigation, Ron decided not to contest the complaint and has withdrawn from the race. According to Ron, several hundred people in Mohave County gave out false information and/or were dishonest with petition gatherers about thier voting status. Regardless of this setback, Ron Weaver is considering another run at the Sheriff's office in 2012...so stay tuned!
