During my entire career, I have believed in the “tough on crime” approach. The criminal element will be aggressively addressed. I am committed to the application of the law in a fair and impartial manner. Each and every law-abiding citizen of Mohave County is entitled to the same consideration.

The “culture” of a professional and truly effective Sheriff’s Office is made up of several components, all of which must be present to deliver a quality service to the citizens that they expect and deserve; ethical leadership and in the insistence on ethical standards throughout the entire organization; solicitation and promotion of new ideas, establishment of realistic goals, and full utilization of talents, training and abilities of employees. In other words, placing individuals in work environments where those abilities will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization to improve the quality of service delivered.

I know that we are all aware that competitive salaries, proper equipment and training play an important role in attracting and retaining quality employees. Along with those, is the importance of administrative fairness and equal opportunity to all employees.

Mohave County is unique, and I am aware that each community has different, diverse and yet specific needs. In order to address these needs, there must be a dialog between those communities and the Sheriff’s Office on a regular basis. An open, public forum. Whether that is in the form of town hall meetings or perhaps the use of ombudsmen from each community, the issue is regular and open communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the people that it serves. The old saying of “two eyes are better than one” is very true. The more the community is involved, the more effective the crime suppression effort.

I believe in community “ownership” of government and elected officials. Anytime an elected official becomes unresponsive to those who elected them, nothing is accomplished to benefit the citizens and the agency becomes dysfunctional and ineffective.

I, Ron Weaver, have the ability and desire to provide strong leadership and effective management for a progressive and responsive law enforcement agency. I strongly believe that Mohave County deserves and should accept nothing less, than first class service from its Sheriff’s Office.
